The administrative assistant will be assisting the Clinical Lead with a special healthcare project for one of our leading global health service providers. This position is responsible for working independently in the office and may involve entering measure specific or testing information to a database and/or organizing and tracking records. Responsibilities may also include tracking of field staff assignments and initial quality review on returned medical records to ensure the records are legible and contain customer identifying information. Duties may also include; faxing out medical record requests to physician offices, sort incoming records to the proper work area in the workflow, calling doctor offices for additional missing information and mailing members for HEDIS specific requests. All medical records that are copied or received must be kept confidential in accordance with federal and local requirements and maintained at the office. Knowledge of medical records, including basic medical terminology. Must be able to follow directions and apply criteria for multiple study measures. Strong computer/technical skills and ability manage dual monitors required. Must demonstrate professionalism, able to multi-task, have good communication skills and work independently. This is a time sensitive project – attendance and the ability to remain committed to the project through completion is vital. Skilled in use of basic office equipment, ie, fax, photocopying equipment, etc.; General understanding of healthcare privacy regulations is desirable, and training will be provided. Must possess solid telephonic abilities, be well-organized, detail-oriented with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook. This is a paperless system.
